How much should I pay for this?
It costs Rs.19 to change your mobile network. This amount will be collected by the new service provider.
How long will it take to change?
It takes seven working days to change. Fifteen days in Jammu and Kashmir, North Eastern states.
Can i change my network between states?
No you cannot change your mobile network between states. Mobile Number Portability is applicable only within the same state
How often can i change my mobile network provider?
You will have stay in a mobile network for a minimum of three months before changing to another network.
What is the procedure to change the Mobile Service Provider?
Follow these simple steps to switch to the new operator
- Text ‘PORT <mobile number>’ to 1900
- Note: Your prepaid balance will not be carried to the new service provider. You will have to lose it. In case of postpaid customers you will have to clear all the bills of the current service provider.
- You will receive a unique code for your mobile. That unique code is valid only for few days and you will have to apply for a new one after the expiry date
- Go the outlet of your new service provider and fill an application mentioning the new service provider name and the unique code of your mobile number
- Mobile Number Portability takes place within seven working days
